2.4.1 Understand and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to promote reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australia
As a pre-service teacher I have had the opportunity to participate in local Indigenous events and specific university courses focused on extending my ability to assist in providing tangible skills, resources and reflection to promote reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. In exploring some of the issues for schools, teachers and communities I have developed a direct passion for Indigenous education, and had the opportunity to reflect on the importance of building relationships and trust within Aboriginal communities, as evidenced within the attached artifact.
