As a pre-service teacher, I have provided a university assignment for evidence of standard 2.1.1 Content and teaching strategies of the teaching area. This arguably outlines the best practice approach to the creative writing process. The key area focused on within the assignment is ‘writing’ with your students- demonstrating the explicit teaching technique- focused on inspiring the creative process that lies within all students. Another key strategy outlined in this assignment is introducing the real world writers approach to the process, as opposed to a forced institutionalised approach of ticking boxes. The English Curriculum is interpretive for the purpose of creativity, allowing teachers/students some scope in the educative decision making process.
