3.5.1 Use effective classroom communication
I adopted several techniques to communicate with my students throughout my practicum. These included verbal instructions, picture cues, power point presentations and nonverbal communication/body language. The evidence provided is a classroom observation completed by my mentor teacher for a lesson which was outside my teaching area and swapped at the last minute due to scheduling issues/assignment due dates. I utilised simple hand gestures and facial cues to help students understand what behaviour is expected, they already knew, however needed reminders at different points. I studied the content topic extensively in the timeframe available to engage students and help them to focus, participate and achieve success in their assignment.
