7.4.1 Engage with professional teaching networks and broader communities
Meeting with various broader community organisations including Cancer Council, Head Space and RACQ has given me an appreciation for the importance of networking within the teaching profession and the community. External organisations and professional teaching networks support both the students and teachers to deliver better educational outcomes. The evidence attached is an event, which I have been assisting to organise with my mentor teacher in conjunction with the Cancer Council Australia. This event allows students to participate in a fundraising activity to assist local families struggling with cancer related issues. Discussions with both the Cancer Council and students have included planning the Relay For Life as well as multiple fundraising activities, with the hope to raise over $20,000.00 for the charity.
